Our castle hotel is located just an hour and a half from Budapest, and only half an hour from the M3 motorway, nestled in the embrace of the forests and streams of the Mátra Mountains. The authentic castle, designed by Miklós Ybl and completed in 1882, was originally owned by the Károlyi family. After nearly 150 years, it now welcomes lovers of elegance and romance in the 21st century as a modern castle hotel.
Our four-star hotel, renovated in 1996 and continuously maintained ever since, offers 53 rooms, 5 suites, and 1 apartment across three wings. As a historic building, no two rooms are alike—each has its own distinct character, and together they create the unique atmosphere that defines our castle hotel.

Early check-in: subject to availability, early check-in is possible. In this case, our standard rooms are available from 11:00 AM for an additional fee.
Late check-out: subject to availability, late check-out is also possible. Standard rooms can be used until 3:00 PM or 6:00 PM for an additional fee.
Accessibility
The Kastélyhotel Sasvár Resort is easily accessible by car via Route 24, whether arriving from Eger or Gyöngyös. The nearest motorway is the M3, located just 30 km away, while the hotel is approximately 100 km—about a 1.5-hour drive—from Budapest.
A bus stop is located just 100 meters from the hotel, with direct connections from Eger, Gyöngyös, and Budapest.
Accessibility for Guests with Reduced Mobility
In accordance with international standards, our hotel provides accessibility for guests with reduced mobility. An accessible restaurant and specially designed guest room are available. Wheelchair access to the hotel is via the entrance next to the Aquila Restaurant in the Romantique wing. From here, most of the castle can be accessed by wheelchair. Elevators provide access to the underground corridor, where the wellness area, bowling alley, and bar are located. At the end of the corridor, another elevator leads to the Renaissance wing, where the reception is also accessible on the ground floor.
