After countless unforgettable experiences, it\u2019s time to embark on a small gastronomic journey at one of the candlelit tables of our Aquila Restaurant. Our guests can enjoy buffet breakfast and dinner in the restaurant located on the ground floor of our Romantique wing. Our buffet dinner offers lovers of Hungarian, Mediterranean, and Eastern flavors a selection of special dishes. In the afternoon hours, our chef, Barnab\u00e1s Bokros, delights guests\u2019 taste buds with his \u00e0 la carte creations. <\/p>

During the summer season, our restaurant expands with a neighboring panoramic terrace, so while indulging your taste buds, you can also admire the castle towering above you.<\/p>

In Hungary, we distinguish 22 wine regions based on their territorial size, of which the historic M\u00e1tra wine region is the second largest in our country. Among our mountainous regions, M\u00e1trai is the largest with approximately 7,815 hectares of registered vineyards. <\/p>

The wine region is located on the southern slopes of the M\u00e1tra Mountains, in the area bordered by the rivers Tarna and Zagyva in the east-west direction. Viticulture and wine-making activities in this region have long traditions, not least the excellent southern location of the M\u00e1tra hills is favorable for grape and fruit cultivation. Its characteristics are special, its uniqueness and the light, floral and fruity tone given by the cooler climate provide a real wine experience. The mountain ranges of M\u00e1tra protect the hillsides from the north wind, and most of the vineyards are located between the forests. There are several medieval wine cellars in the countryside, some of which have been renovated and still offer wine today. <\/p>

The region has a moderately continental climate. Its geological conditions are unique and its soils are varied. Among the prominent wine-producing settlements of the historic M\u00e1tra wine region are Abas\u00e1r, Markaz, Visonta, Nagyr\u00e9de, Gy\u00f6ngy\u00f6ssolymos, Gy\u00f6ngy\u00f6spata, Gy\u00f6ngy\u00f6starj\u00e1n and Sz\u00fccsi. <\/p>

Among the grape varieties, in addition to the traditional Olaszrizling, Le\u00e1nyka and Muscat Ottonel, high-quality wines are also produced from Sz\u00fcrkebar\u00e1t, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Among the blue grape varieties, K\u00e9kfrankos and Pinot Noir are grown in the largest area, but Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are also found in smaller quantities. <\/p>

The M\u00e1tra winemakers use all their professional knowledge to create special, high-quality blends. The wines harmonize well with the dishes typical of the local landscape, and when paired together, we can achieve a special gastronomic experience.     Life starts in summer on the shores of our seasonal outdoor pool! In addition to bathing, open-air massages, the fairy-tale castle and the M\u00e1tra panorama, the only thing missing for physical and mental rejuvenation are delicious snacks.
